Overview:
This two-day course provides students with the knowledge and skills to implement and manage name resolution in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 network infrastructure. The course addresses some of topics covered in the 5-day, Microsoft 2277 course. This course will help prepare the student for the Microsoft 70-291 exam. This is a core exam for the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certifications
Prerequisites:
Prior to attending this class, students should have the following experience:
- Completion of the Microsoft course "2276 - Implementing a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure: Network Hosts" or have equivalent knowledge and skill
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Resolve names.
- Resolve host names by using DNS.
- Manage the integration of Active Directory and DNS.
- Manage and monitor DNS.
- Resolve network basic input/output system (NetBIOS) names by using WINS.
